Great. Only reason for not a 5 star is that the instructions don't talk about the adjusting valve.

I ordered three of these for a trip to BWCA and they work great! One had a bad seem that leaked on arrival. Hyke and Byke quickly replaced it with out an issue.

I wish it was wider. I am a larger fella, 6'3" 250lbs. When I lay on my back my arms fall off the sides pulling my mummy bag tight across my chest. A 30" pad would be much nicer. Otherwise, it works as advertised. The inflation bag was not all that effective. Glad I had a breeze to catch air. I will pack my battery-operated inflator next time (motorcycle camping).

Like several other reviews, I think it is a great pad but takes too much effort to blow up! So I bought a flextail tiny pump and it works beautifully.

I began going on pack trips in the backcountry a few years ago. At that time I had a sleeping pad from another company. I never slept much at night on my pack trips, but I just contributed it to being in the wilderness instead of being in my bed. Once I bought and began using this sleeping pad I found that it's so much more comfortable that I can actually sleep through the night when I am camping! I highly recommend this product!
Elisabeth T.
The pad seems fine--holds air reasonably well and is comfortable to sleep on. It's longer than I would like and takes a bit of time to blow up. Actually getting the pad required many emails and a couple of phone calls. I'm unsure why it was so hard to get the order shipped.

After years of rolling off my sleep pad in the middle of the night, at last I’ve discovered the joys of the horizontal rib design of your bag. At 75 years old I’m still cycling/camping, and this bag will make my remaining trips (many more, I hope!) supremely comfortable.

Tough, superbly comfortable. Air Matress 3.5

Very nice product

Never purchased, but what's the R-Value on this thing?
Bismark
Mattress was what I expected. Good quality and made well. We plan on keeping them in our SUV along with our sleeping bags for travel into snow country.
James M.
The sleeping bag, and pad were a purchase for my grandson, who has spent a few cold nights on the ground. He loves them and has not had to freeze while out camping with the Boy Scouts.
Patrick M.
the thicker more durable blow up mattress has made the outdoor winter camping in Michigan much more comfortable
Joshua H.
Hyke and byke products are top notch. The first time you get a sleeping bag you are skeptical as the material feels very thin, but after plenty of action and dogs in the tent with us I can affirm its durability and warmth. I live in colorado so my hiking involves the CDT and cold nights. Nothing beats them for warmth to weight ratio.
Joshua
Filled it with air and found it to be amazing. Looking forward to a hike with it.
Govannon T.
I have yet to try them out in the field yet, but I did air them up and test them. Due to the fact I have had many sleeping pads in the past, I am impressed with this one. My biggest concern was the fact that I am a side sleeper and that makes camping difficult at best. This pad allows me to lay comfortably my side. The included pillow was just an unexpected, but welcome accessory.
Grace K.
It's really long which is nice as I'm 5'10. It is comfy and keeps me off the ground. However, it's almost impossible for me to fully inflate it because after blowing it up, air quickly escapes as I try to close the valve.
James H.
I used it once so far. It is very compact and comfortable. It seems well built and sturdy. It is heavy and does not have the ability to inflate with a bag as others do. It is easy to blow up. I think this pad has good value.
Dudley D.
Great product. It’s thick comfy and I can’t why to try it out on my backpack elk hunt in Colorado this fall.
Kerri O.
Unfortunately I have not used it yet in the wild. I look forward to it. I did remove it from the packaging and the feel is awesome!

I bought this pad to improve my hammock lay. It works fine, easily adjustable (lowering pressure). However, at 63 I only have so many huff-and-puffs in me, and this pad takes quite a few! I would prefer to have a bag inflator with it, or at least know where I can go to get one that fits this specific pad. I thought I left a message to that effect (where can I get a bag inflator that fits this pad?) with Hyke and Byke, but got no response. So, I layed a measuring tape on the opening, figured it near enough to 22mm to fit a commonly available inflator, but no joy! I can make the inflator work with a couple layers of duct tape, but would prefer a cleaner, more functional connection. Ah, well. The pad was inexpensive, and what's a little dizziness at the end of a long trek?

Used camping 2 days with Roof Top Tent in Nevada desert Monument Campground at the Elbow on East Walker River. Low 20’s every nite. Totally comfortable.

My intrepid camping companion, Billy loves snuggling into our H&B Eolus down bag and Appalachian Sleeping Pad on a chilly night!
Michael M.
My sleeping pad performed perfectly. Easy to inflate and adjust firmness for optimal comfort.
Matt B.
Bought it for my wife, as she is a side sleeper and camping was turning out more sleepless nights and painful mornings until I did my research and she tried the Hyke and 4" blow up pad with micro adjusting valve. She is now a happy camper and looks forward to getting up to more adventures
Thanks for a great product, I recently bought one for myself when I saw the great results
Best wishes from South East BC, Canada
Antonio m.
Lot to blow up but is small and compact. Issue with being all human air is that as the ambient temperature cools, the air in the mat contracts leading to a few refills as the night goes on. I use under the outside of my bivy, so far so good
Brett E.
I haven’t had time to actually use it yet it seems difficult to blow it up unless I’m doing something wrong I like the products just wish I had more time to use them
Patrick M.
Used for two nights and very pleased with the comfort. I have three of these now because light and very comfortable.
Marjorie A.
It is very crunchy and loud to sleep on
Gerard M.
Sleeping bag is fantastic very warm and roomey even for my large frame
Jim A.
Diffidently quieter than some I have, easy to inflate, long enough for me (6’1”) one thing not fond of is - it’s really narrow doesn’t allow for much movement without loosing it or falling of of it… but. - it’s doable…
Rick C.
Good quality just takes a lot of inflation breaths !
Christine C.
used it on GAP and was pleased!
Kevin G.
Haven’t used it yet but tried it in my living room and seems like it’s gonna be very good..
Jaremy D.
Very comfortable! I would only use it as a summer pad as this pad has no R-Value.
Cristopher M.
It was summer in Colorado, so it's hard to know if it kept me warm...I was already warm.
But it was comfy and I got a good night's sleep.
Would recommend it for 3 season camping
Joe P.
Your tents a 10 out of a 10. The sleep pad is a 5 out of 10. Not a big fan of the big ripple pad.
EMMETT N.
So plush and cushy.
Ana C.
I wish a pump was available, finding a compatible pump was unsuccessful for me. But also blowing it up myself went fine.
Bryan L.
Great pad, bought one to try and ended up buying a second to fit nicely in the Zion 2p tent. Seems well made and love the micro adjustment valve. The only problem is it is a lot to blow up without a pump, wish there was a attached air sack for when backpacking to blow them up. Otherwise these are a great buy.
Daniel H.
I think the product is made of high-quality, durable materials. However, I would give it five stars if 1) the inflation valve was changed to a one-way valve that prevents air from escaping while inflating, and 2) the pad came with a pump sac that fit the inflation valve.

Adirondack backpacking!
C Eric B.
Very comfortable, rolls up very small, but does take a bit to blow it up. Might have opted for lighter one, but not sure how much comfort would be compeomosed. Great value and fast service.
Scott C.
Only one trip with it so far, but have tried many different sleep pads and this one meets all the criteria and at a price point that I haven’t been able to match elsewhere yet! Love the micro-valve deflate accessory.
Douglas D.
Slept on River bank, no problem! Felt like I was home in bed
Brandon M.
I ordered two of the Appalachian Inflatable Sleeping Pads for a backpacking trip my wife and I did this past May. These pads were really comfortable, extra thick to keep you off the ground, light enough to carry, and rolled up nicely in the travel bag while we completed our 28 mile journey. I would recommend to anyone thinking about buying one.
Joseph K.
Best night sleep ever on the trail .bought a mini pump and l will never go back to the self inflated pads again simply awesome. Highly recommend your pad.going to wind river range Wyoming next ,can’t watch
Laura A.
My fiancee and I really enjoyed these pads (and our bags too). They fit perfectly in our backpacking tent side by side. They are lightweight and we loved the easy/fine adjust option so much we got a set for our siblings to use! Being a little bigger, it would be nice for a slightly wider option, but this works great for two people with different preferences on mattress hardness! The thick cushion is great too!
Tad S.
For size this is a great item and it provides a comfortable sleep. It does raise you to an elevation (about 2.5 to 3 inches) off the tent floor, so on some tents (Like the 1 person Zion) if you're over 6 feet in height, you'll be touching your head and feet on the terminal tent walls. For size to weight ratio, it's tough to beat an inflatable mattress for packing purposes, this one is available at a great price and it's length, width, and weight offer sleeping comfort in the right tent.

Worked perfectly love this setup
Matthew P.
Sleeping pad is great, I used it several times. Works great as a traveling sleeping pad if you are staying at friends or relatives for family matters. It is very thick yet packs small enough. Will be using it again for a loop hike soon
Steve K.
I received the air mattress and I unpacked it and looked for a way to inflate it . Their was no way unless I used my lungs to do it and even that is challenging because the valves are recessed which makes it more difficult.
I did email about this and they sent a recommendation of a company but that product did not work . I even ordered an roll bag to inflate this mattress but the valve ports were different sizes.
I mic the inter and outer of the valve ports and order a small battery operated inflater and it worked.
My suggestion is that you incorporate a self inflate bulb or include a inflate bag with this mattress, even if I love it I may never purchase another because of having to search for a device to inflate it where other companies include a device or it’s built it.
jerry b.
have not used it yet. but liked the thickness
Joe S.
First 4 day trip with new gear. It worked great, can't wait for my next trip.
Seokjun H.
A good stuff, only issue on blow up, with my breathing..wish an air pump with it.
Jonathan G.
Great sleeping pad.
After figuring out my preferred level of inflation I slept quite well the first night.
I do place a towel between the pad and my sleeping bag. This accomplishes 2 things; it stops me from sliding off the pad when I roll over and keeps me warmer. I recommend this product.
If you could create or market a hand or foot pump it would be great. Inflating 1 is OK, but when there are multiple pads this would be a big help.
James
Small, comfy and convenient
I was excited that H&B finally launched some new products and had to give this a try. I took it out on an overnight in the woods by my house and it did not disappoint. Feels durable, super cushy, comfy to lay on and I love that button you press to tune the air pressure. Smart too, having a dump valve at the top. Makes rolling it up way easier. And I don't think I've ever seen a pad that came with it's own attached bungee. Pretty cool! Only downside is that it takes a little while to blow up, going to have to grab an inflation sack. Oh and I don't think I'd take it on super cold trips since it's not an insulated pad. Hey maybe you guys at H&B can release an insulated one of these next?
